GIM - Commercially released with Geocap 6.4

The GIM development project , sponsored by PGS Reservoir, Det norske Oljeselskap ASA, NORECO, RWE Dea Norge AS, Concedo ASA and The Research Council of Norway was successfully concluded at the end of 2012.

The two-and-a-half year project period culminated in a Consortium meeting where the members were presented the unique capabilities of GIM by the Geocap development team with hands on training in testing out the latest algorithms and functionality on real seismic datasets.

GIM Commercially available in Geocap 6.4
Since January 2013, GIM has been introduced in the sponsoring
companies' organizations in Norway and has been sold before its commercial release to leading geophysical and geological companies
such as TGS and Tectonor AS.

The Brick Technology for handling of very large 2D and 3D Seismic datasets , combined with the unique algorithms in GIM for ultrafast automatic stratigraphic interpretations, is a revolution for automatic detection and generation of geobodies focused at salt-, subsalt- ,delta- and channel geometries in the first commercial version of GIM.

Geobodies
GIM offers a wide variety of Seismic Attributes which combined with the Seismic Attribute Calculator can serve as input to a new and innovative algorithm that "grows" geobodies around start-point(s). The new algorithm is more robust to "noise" at the border of the geobody than traditional approaches and will eliminate the need for manual editing.
